Maker Data and Privacy
Effective Date: 1 January 2026 · Controller: Baskewon Quirky Penguin Atelier Ltd (Company No. 14892041).
1. Our Minimalist Approach to Data
At baskewonquirkypenguin.courses, our courses and tutorials are open to read without creating an account. Even our interactive Project Brief Builder on the Contact page executes 100% locally inside your web browser’s memory using client-side JavaScript—none of the text you type into that form is transmitted to our servers unless you actively copy and email it to us.
2. Information We Collect
- Direct Email Correspondence: If you email [email protected], we receive your email address, name, and any project notes you include so we can reply to your enquiry.
- Standard Server Logs: Our web hosting infrastructure automatically records transient technical logs (IP address, request timestamp, user-agent string, and HTTP status code) strictly for security, DDoS mitigation, and debugging under legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Logs are rotated and deleted after 14 days.
- Local Consent Preferences: Your browser’s
localStoragestores a simple preference flag recording whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies.
3. How We Use and Retain Data
We never sell, rent, or trade maker email addresses to third-party advertisers or data brokers. Email correspondence is retained for up to 24 months so we can reference previous technical advice if you follow up on an upcycling project, after which threads are permanently purged.
4. Your Rights Under UK & EU GDPR
You have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of any personal correspondence we hold about you, as well as the right to restrict processing or lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
